Nicola is a qualified Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Counsellor, with a Master’s degree in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). She works therapeutically with children from three years of age upwards, adolescents, parents and families, recognising that meaningful therapeutic change for children and young people is often supported by the wider family system around them.
Nicola’s work with children and adolescents is integrative, child-centred and psychodynamically informed. Depending on the child’s age, developmental stage and needs, sessions may include play therapy, sand tray work, art materials, creative expression and talking therapy. These approaches offer children and young people different ways to explore thoughts, feelings, experiences and relationships that may be difficult to express verbally.
Parent and family work is an integral part of Nicola’s approach to child and adolescent psychotherapy. Alongside individual sessions with the child or young person, she offers regular opportunities for parents and carers to reflect together on emotional development, family relationships, behaviour, communication, and the child’s wider environment. This collaborative work can help parents better understand their child’s emotional world, respond with greater confidence, strengthen connection, reduce conflict, and support change beyond the therapy room. It also provides a reflective space for parents to consider their own responses, pressures and hopes for family life.
Nicola provides a thoughtful and well-equipped therapeutic space with a range of art and play materials, including paints, clay, figures and sand. Each child has their own box to store artwork and therapeutic materials, which can be taken home at the end of their work. Nicola holds a full DBS certificate and works in accordance with safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.

The fee range is between £80 – £120 per 50 minute session. There is a sliding scale of cost with some low-fee sessions for individuals with a limited income. In common with most therapists, I charge for missed sessions or for cancelled sessions that cannot be rearranged.
