I am a qualified Integrative Child & Adolescent Counsellor, with a Post Graduate Diploma (PGDip) and a level 4 Certificate in Counselling Children (practice) accredited by the CPCAB. To further my skills and experience I am now studying for a Masters degree in Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy accredited by the United Kingdom College of Psychotherapists (UKCP). I work with children from 4 years of age upwards.
When counselling children and adolescents a number of different mediums can be explored, for example play therapy, sand tray, art and talking therapy, to assist exploration of thoughts and feelings. This method is called Intergrative Therapy, combining these therapies with child-centred and psychodynamic skills.
I offer a wide range of art and play materials including paints, clay, play figures and sand for the child to use.
Each child is given their own box to store artwork in, which they take home on their last session.
I hold a full DBS and follow the Child Protection regulations.
Please note that I do not have a waiting area for parents. Apart from the initial consultation, sessions are held with the child alone.
All sessions are £50 (50 minutes). I reserve some low-fee sessions for individuals with a limited income. In common with most therapists, I charge for missed sessions or for cancelled sessions that cannot be rearranged.
